Enjoy your lunch at Heidruns cafe in Torsby!
On our way to Mora in Sweden we passed the small town Torsby at around 13.00. It was time for lunch and we hate to stop at these ordinary places with horrible food and cold charmless environments. But just north of Torsby we spotted a small handwritten, but very charming sign; 7 cilometers to Heidruns Bok- & Bildcafe!
We decided it was time to stop and may be we were fortunate to find the perfect place with charm and good food. And we were lucky! We found a lot of charm, very good food, a lot of nice art books, a small and beautiful exhibition and a great garden. So what more can you ask for at a random stop along the road?
The food was simple, but tasty and very good. We had broccoli pie with homemade bread, salad, water and coffee. We enjoyed the art, the books, the garden and a very nice staff.
Heidruns Bok- & Bildcafe is named after a goat and is run by Gunn-Britt Karlsson. The café is open during summer. They also run a publishing company and this has first priority during winter. In the garden they arrange concerts in summer. The food is homemade and a lot of delicious cakes may also tempt you!
It’s a perfect stop for everyone who seeks some other environments and better food than the Mall in Torsby can offer!
